Nine-Year-Old Parker Abed Joins Team E3 Racing

9-year-old Parker Abed is a Kid Kart champion and a Team E3 Racing member.

He’s a national champion at just nine years old. And he’s got some very grown up ambitions. That’s why Parker Abed is the newest Team E3 Racing Tier 2 winner.

“My name is Parker Abed and I want to be a Formula One race car driver when I grow up,” Abed writes on his website, noting Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettle among his favorite drivers.

Abed first hit the tracks at age five and, within a year, took third place in the 2010 Kid Kart Nationals Comer Unrestricted Class in St. Louis, MO. He’s since traveled the country competing in the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup, WKA Midwest Sprint Series and NRKA series. Along the way, he’s set track records throughout the Midwest, including winning the 2011 Comer Unrestricted National Championship. He broke all previous records for the race and became the first racer ever to podium one year and win the next. The same year, he also won the Minnesota State Championship, WKA Midwest Sprint Series Briggs Jr. 206 Championship, took 2nd in the WKA Midwest Sprint Series Comer Championship, 4th in the Briggs JR 206 National Championship, went unbeaten in the NRKA race series and set fast lap records at several tracks.

Abed finished the 2012 season ranked 14th in the country as a rookie. Throughout the 2013 season, Abed has his sights set on winning the WKA Mazda/Bridgestone Manufactures Cup National Championship and the United States Pro Kart Series Championship.  He’ll also race a limited number of the Route 66 series.

All the while, he’s acing the fourth grade, studying in his school’s gifted and talented program for fourth graders and participating in soccer, T-Ball, hockey, swimming, horseback riding and the Cub Scouts. He’s got two little sisters who “can drive me crazy, but I love them,” he adds.

E3 Spark Plugs congratulates little Abed and welcomes him to Team E3 Racing.
