Four New Rides We’re Anxious to See in 2014

2014 Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid

The New Year always means new rides. And we here at E3 Spark Plugs are anxiously awaiting the arrival of several in 2014. Here are our top three picks:

  1. 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid: Inspired by the vintage 917 racers with a black-and-white livery scheme, the new Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid can go 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and is capable of speeds of over 211 mph. And, it can go about 18 miles on a charge before switching over to the gasoline engine. It’s pricey, though. A limited-edition model will set you back a cool $970,000. Look for it in early 2014.
  2. 2014 Tesla Model X: This one is perhaps the most anticipated debut of the year. Touted as a cross between a stylish SUV and a practical-yet-uber-cool minivan, the specs include a futuristic touchscreen dashboard, luxury interior and, of course, those flashy falcon wing doors. This ain’t your typical soccer mom-mobile. It can hit 60 mph in under five seconds and is expected to run about $70,000.
  3. 2015 Ford Mustang: Rumored to hit the showrooms in April, the 2015 Ford Mustang is expected to generate a major buzz, especially considering that 2014 marks the iconic pony car’s 50th anniversary. Expect a 2.3 L, 16-valve turbo engine with manual and auto transmission, with Ford opting for a split-and-jointed drive axle for the first time ever.
