Ford Shows Off Redesigned 2017 Super Duty Pickup Truck at LA Auto Show

The Los Angeles Auto Show boasts more than 30 debuts this year. Among them is Ford's redesigned 2017 Super Duty pickup truck. The company displayed a white F-450 Platinum dual-rear-wheel pickup and F-350 King Ranch at the 10-day show at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Both trucks feature significantly more aluminum than prior designs, making them considerably lighter. The F-450 boasts a 6.7L Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine, 19.5-inch wheels, a fully boxed high-strength steel frame and military-grade aluminum alloy body that sheds some 350 pounds from the previous year model.

"It’s our top-of-the line tow rig," said Mike Levine, Ford's truck communications manager. "It’s the toughest, smartest, most capable Super Duty ever."

The F-350 King Ranch crew cab 4x4 single-rear-wheel pickup has a 6.2L SOHC 2-valve Flex Fuel V8 engine, best-in-class standard gas 385 horsepower and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. With the CNG/Propane package, it can be upgraded with aftermarket upfits to bi-fuel capability, enabling it to run on either liquefied propane gas or unleaded gasoline. Levine describes it as the "Texas-inspired luxury package that pays tribute to the pioneering spirit, stewardship, and agricultural leadership of the historic King Ranch."

Full details about the trucks' towing, payload and engine performance capabilities will come later. In the meantime, which are you most looking forward to driving? Let us know on the E3 Spark Plugs Facebook Fan Page.
