The largest private collection of James Bond film cars and memorabilia is up for grabs in Miami.
If you’re pretty sure you’re the biggest 007 fan ever, we’re betting this guy has you beat. But, he’s giving you a chance to catch up. Miami real estate investor and apparenly James Bond superfan Michael Dezer has decided to part ways with his beloved collection of James Bond memorabilia – a cinematic treasure trove that includes the world’s largest collection of Bond film cars.
Back in 2011, Dezer made headlines with his purchase of dozens of cars used in the iconic film franchise from the Bond Museum in Keswick, England. But his spending spree was far from over. Since then, he’s added to his collection, which today boasts 59 cars, plus motorcycles, boats, jetskis and tanks. He’s also got thousands of posters, photos and other 007 memorabilia.All were used tp establish his Cars of the Stars exhibition at his Auto Museum in Miami.
Jealous yet? Well, then whip out your debit card. Dezer recently announced he’s ready to unload the entire collection, valued at about $33.25 million. But if you’re thinking you can plunk down 10 bucks for a poster, think again. Dezer’s one caveat is that he won’t split up the trove. You buy the whole enchilada, or nothing at all.
We know, we know. It’s a tough decision. It’s a whole lotta coin, but consider a few of the automotive gems that could be parked in your garage soon:
- Six Aston Martins including the DB5 from Goldeneye, the Vanquish from Die Another Day and both V8s from The Living Daylights;
- The Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me (but not the submersible version – Elon Mus of Tesla Motors, PayPal and SpaceX fame snatched up that one last year);
- The Audi A5 and Land Rover Defender 110 from the opening scene of Skyfall;
- The chopped-in-half Renault 11 from A View to a Kill;
- The 1971 Mustang Mach 1 from Diamonds are Forever (Yes, it’s the one that Sean Connery balanced on two wheels through a narrow Las Vegas alley);
- Speedboats from Live and Let Die and The World is Not Enough;
- The dragon tank from Dr. No;
- The Fairey Huntress yacht featured in From Russia with Love;
- The tuk-tuk from Octopussy – a fun favorite with the guys here at E3 Spark Plugs;
- And the hovercraft from Die Another Day.
There’s also a replica of the much loved AMC Hornet from The Man With The Golden Gun.
