Nissan Debuts Short Film Featuring Two Veterans in a Modified Titan on an Alaskan Adventure
Nissan’s American division is honoring the nation’s military veterans with the release of a short film produced in cooperation with the Wounded Warrior Project. If you’ve ever dreamed of venturing out into the Alaskan wilderness, this one’s a must-see.

“I couldn’t dream up this adventure,” McMahon says early in the film, while the two are flying into Alaska in an helicopter to pick up the Titan truck. “It’s just absolutely over the top.”
The two spent two weeks traversing the frozen landscape, fishing, camping, driving through areas with no road in sight, assisting a photographer on a glacier exploring expedition, surviving an avalanche, delivering a pair of Evinrude boat motors to a commercial fisherman and fellow veteran, and spending a day volunteering with fellow veterans to clean and clear land around beautiful Elk’s Lake. All the while the two share firsthand stories of the terrors of war, the difficulties of returning to civilian life and the honor of serving.
The idea came about via a media event at the 2014 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show and Conference in Las Vegas, where Journalist Joe Byers pitched the idea of documenting an ultimate adventure. Nissan officials loved the idea, immediately noting that the adventure concept would enable the wounded service members to experience Alaska’s beauty from all vantage points, whether perched on a mountain in Healy or waist deep in the Kenai River.
“When David Guzman and Kevin McMahon set out on this adventure, it was our goal to capture the excitement in a way that would truly represent the enthusiastic spirit of these American heroes alongside one of the toughest trucks on the planet,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S. “We’re ecstatic to have the opportunity to launch this on Veterans Day as a way to thank and honor Kevin and David, who serve as outstanding representatives for all Wounded Warrior Project Alumni.”
The result is a touching 21-minute documentary that debuted on the History2 Channel and is available digitally via Hulu, XBOX Life, and Nissan’s YouTube Channel.
