It truly is an international event and one that is broadcast around the globe.
There is a lot of information circulating on other websites advising people which airports to use, where to stay and where you can find food. Certainly some of the best prices on airline tickets go in and out of Orlando International. As one of the permanent homes of Mickey Mouse, Orlando has millions of travelers catching flights to and from major cities. But, don't overlook Jacksonville's International Airport. It is very accessible to WW Motocross Park. You'll have an easy 30 minute drive using the I-295 Beltway and I-10 with only a few red lights leaving the airport. In comparison, it is a tough 3-hour drive from Orlando with lots of traffic.
There are numerous hotels and motels at the Jacksonville Airport, and the River City Town center (adjacent to the Airport) offers plenty of places to eat and wet your whistle after a day at the track. If you act quickly, Chaffee Road at Interstate-10 is home to several top hotel chains and is less than 10 minutes from the track. You can expect Chaffee Road restaurants and stores to be buzzing with activity the weekend of the MXGP, so plan on longer than usual wait times. On the other hand, it's really cool when you're chowing down at a nearby table to World Championship teams and riders.
