Before the minivan took over the roadways like a rabid soccer mom hell-bent on world domination, there was another iconic American automotive workhorse – the beloved station wagon. Now, the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey, PA is honoring the memory of your mama’s faux wood-paneled grocery getter with a special exhibition.
A Family Affair: Station Wagons opens May 23 and runs through October 12. It’s designed to showcase both familiar and lesser known examples of station wagons and the impact they had on family life. Thus far, the museum has just over a dozen confirmed rides ranging from a 1958 Edsel Villager to a Ford Pinto Rallye, but it needs help filling out the rest of the lineup. If you’re the proud owner of a vintage longroof and willing to loan it to the AACA for five months, call 717-566-7100.
