Last Pro Mod Event Before Countdown

The FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series is a 10-race series that includes the Summit Racing Nationals. The series is presented by Type A Motorsports and opened its 2023 season in Gainesville Raceway for the Gatornationals. This is the first season with a Road to Championship for the NHRA class.

The doorslammer series features cars with more than 3,000 horsepower that can travel a quarter mile in less than six seconds at speeds exceeding 250 mph. The cars have either a hood scoop for nitrous burning cars or a cut hood with a supercharger fitted onto a blown power plant. Pro Mod is as close as it gets to NHRA’s “run what you brung” racing roots.

Pro Mod cars retain some street cred but are allowed to run either a nitrous assisted engine running on unleaded race fuel or a supercharged or turbocharged engine running on methanol. With a broad range of brands and models, car (and driver) must weight 2350lbs for a nitrous engine and 2650lbs for a supercharged or turbocharged engine.
